Mumbai, 12th February 2018: Kalyan Eparchy Youth (KEY) in joint association with Humanitarian Welfare and Research Foundation a non-government organization registered under Mumbai trust in 2010.(KEY) is organizing an enthusiastic youth wing of the Kalyan Diocese which has been fulfilling an excellent vocation under the leadership of His Excellency Bishop Thomas Elavanal, its Directors, Priests, Animators and Parents with the aim of achieving the overall wellbeing and spiritual formation of the Youth Members through the facets of faith, fellowship and action. With each passing year KEY has been organizing events aimed at developing the charisma of the youth and transforming them into holistic individuals capable of serving the church and society.

Impressed by the initiative taken by KEY & HWARF, Renowned Actor Mr. Aanjjan Srivastav is an Indian film, television and stage actor, associated with Indian People’s Theatre Association in Mumbai of which he remained Vice-President for several years with actress Ragini Khanna (Sasural Genda Phool fame) who was last seen in the film Gurgaon and Sambhavna Seth Indian dancer, Hindi television actress, model and television talk show host was also present at the event.

Cultural events like Talentia & Enthuzia are some of the prominent events which KEY has been conducting from several years. Talentia is an all-inclusive talent hunt competition where the youth is given a platform to exhibit their talents through various events like dance, biblical skit, photography, open mic, painting etc. Enthuzia is the Annual Diocesan Youth Day where youth from all Maharashtra state come together for a celebration which aims at encouraging fellowship amongst all the youth of the diocese.

KEY conducts social events every year. ‘Water for Marathwada’ was one of the key events of last year where water collection drive was conducted by KEY in collaboration with WRSSF (Western Region Social Service Forum). For this event all the youth helped in collecting water under the leadership of the Youth Director Fr. George Vattamattam for the drought hit Marathwada region to which lakhs of litres of drinking water was supplied.

This year as a part of our responsibility towards society, KEY plans to support families of the farmers who had to take away their own lives due to the cruelty of nature in the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra. The stress, pain and grief that these families are going through is unbearable. But they have stood strong together, fighting all odds. As a Salute to these Heroes whose hands feed the nation, we, KALYAN EPARCHY YOUTH with the support of our whole community are joining hands to raise funds for a better life that they truly deserve. Also, Enthuzia, the annual get-together of KEY which sees an attendance of over two thousand youth from our diocese, will be dedicated to this cause. World renowned Violinist and Grammy award winner Mr. Manoj George and other recognized musicians will be performing live to support this cause.
