1. Kamala Nehru College
One enters into a cheerful area with colourful walls and smiling faces which can instantly brighten a dull day. Their specialty lies in their simple dishes like chhole-bhature and rajma-chawal. Served at Rs 24-40 per plate, they are extremely pocket friendly. Additionally, they have a fresh fruit juice stall and a chat corner which becomes a major hangout spot during lunch hours.

2. Lady Shri Ram College
For starters, their canteen is always referred as a café. The menu is vast and is known for their keema dosa, chicken tikka roll and cheese macaroni among others. Prices vary between Rs 20 and Rs 80. They also have a desserts menu that changes every day.

3. St Stephens
This quaint canteen has wicker chairs and wooden furniture to remind you old-school coffee houses. Their mince cutlets and cheese scrambled egg score high on comfort and taste. Prices start at Rs 50.

Hansraj College boasts of an open canteen where you’ll find students hanging out the entire day. Chocolate frappe and grilled sandwich come recommended, so does their South Indian menu. Prices start at Rs 30.

Students swear by this canteen’s samosas. More often than not, you will come across students discussing college events or rehearsing their productions. The ice cream and fresh fruit juice stall also draws a large crowd.

6. Sri Venkateswara College
Venkateswara College, popularly called Venky is known for its extensive South Indian menu. Other dishes worth trying are Aloo Tikki, Samosa and Fried Rice. It is also interesting to note that their menu is varied according to the season.

7. Delhi School Economics
The list can’t be complete without D-School in it. The canteen attracts a lot of students with its special non-vegetarian dishes. Their mutton dosa is all of Rs 45 but tastes like a million bucks. Other must-trys are egg curry with rice, chhole bhature, mutton cultets and thali which are also priced very economically (pun unintended). J.P. stall sells chai and iced tea by hundreds every day.
